Update 12/4/10: New official Adobe CS5 logos have been released as seen below.

Adobe CS5 is being released on April 12th and to go along with the new version, comes a new logo?
Please note I have no confirmation that this logo is official, it has come from the ‘unofficial’ CS5 blog.
I’ve featured the Photoshop icon as an example of the letterpress effect used for the rest of the current Creative Suite (CS4).
What do you think?
Update 29/3/10: Logo above not official
It looks like there is going to be a second colour added to each icon of the Adobe CS5 identity system as shown above.
Be sure to check out the awesome new CS5 features if you haven’t already.

The PS logo is the Photoshop logo from CS4, it isn’t the CS4 logo.
I doubt all CS5 apps will have the same logo – it seems like you’re comparing apples to oranges

Artywah,
Good point, I am interested to see how they brand the rest of the icons.
I used the PS logo as an example of the letterpress effect they use for the rest of their icons.

They’re not going to all have the same logo. The LR3 beta is out already and it has its own logo.
March 29th, 2010 at 12:05 PM
I really don’t think that’s what it is.
March 29th, 2010 at 12:08 PM
I’m sure they wouldn’t do this to themselves. this can’t be it. I Kinda makes me puke in my mouth.
March 29th, 2010 at 12:16 PM
I’m fairly positive that it’s a crappy logo that the rumor site did — not Adobe.

If that is the new logo, I’m going to eat all toes off of all the socks in the dirty laundry pile in my basement.
March 29th, 2010 at 1:22 PM
I don’t like the new one, looks like it’s been smudged.
March 29th, 2010 at 1:31 PM
There’s no way this is the new logo – ew.

Have to agree with artywah, it would be good to see what the individual icons would be to really be able to gage.
Based on this CS5 icon, I’m not fond of the same height, the variation they currently have made them immediately recognizable and easily read.

My partner (non designer) saw this and remarked that it looks like a crappy racing car logo.
Couldn’t really have put it better myself.
I don’t think for a second this is CS5’s new logo. Adobe wouldn’t let that mess happen.

It’s the logo of the ‘unofficial’ CS5 blog’ not the Creative Suite …

Horrid! It can’t be.
March 29th, 2010 at 7:47 PM
I’m pretty sure this is the logo for their blog not the suite?

check out the icon for flash builder 4 release version. surely going to match that one

I think the’ll stay with that mnemonic letter style but change the background. They’ve introduced a new grid system similiar to one Aicher has used for his pictogramms – this would be good to make fresh consistent shapes.
But then, I’m only a guessing designer.

@Helen
Agreed, my first thought was something I’d see on a race car.
Just doesn’t really do it for me but I’d like to see what the rest of the set will look like before I make any definitive comment.

That HAS to be fake.
March 30th, 2010 at 5:49 PM
I don’t think it can be a new Logo. The sharp red color burn my eyes. I would rather stick to the CS4

i dont care about logo i cant wait to use CS5

Oh the speculation… its just like what the iPad is going to look like, all these concepts will bombard the blagosphere.

I really hope this is not their CS5 logo. That’s just not right, it should be better than that. The CS4 icons look very nice for me, the CS5 should look even better, not vice versa.

Thumbs down to the new logos.
June 18th, 2010 at 8:23 PM
Is it just me or did the older logos (CS2 especially) look much more professional, not sure i like these as much

CS5 is just rocking.
August 7th, 2010 at 8:11 PM
the cs5 logo looks like a cheap race type logo. i miss the sophisticate look of a big brand and the type is not nice.
even the software rocks … the logo not
September 29th, 2010 at 5:33 AM
I usually spend 20 bucks per logo. Is that too much?
December 18th, 2010 at 12:47 AM
It would be a bad move to brand CS5 using that font. The S and the 5 look way too similar–it looks like it says CSS.

Nice post, The PS logo is for Photoshop logo from CS4, it is not for CS4 logo.I have no info about CS5 logo.
June 13th, 2011 at 4:11 AM
The letters doesn’t fit in the box…definitly should change the font. The gradiant used in the font defuse the sharpness which looks weird. So I wouldn’t recognise it.
June 20th, 2011 at 6:31 PM
The logo is not eye catching one. It looks little bit dull. The package is really good one.
July 22nd, 2011 at 11:34 AM
I guess I this tendency to simplify each view and also join all the software is working, but I’m esprando something more innovative from them.
